The Aquastar 3 is a great torch, a rugged metal body, powered by AAA batteries and a 3 W Luxeon LED!As you may know, I’m a fan of modifying this stuff; so I changed mine from a 100 Lumen Luxeon LED, to a 228 Lumen Cree LED; here’s the step by step guide to how I done it!

I know you can buy an LED module for the SL4/6 but they aren`t very bright (in my experience), so I designed my own 9W version!

After all my exploits with building my own torches I turned to designing modifications to existing torches. This one was upgrading the 3 x 3W LED`s in the Nocturnal Lights SLX to 3 x 9W!

I started this project more to prove a point than anything else, could I build an underwater LED dive torch in my kitchen. Using only the most simple hand tools!

My biggest and most complicated project ever! A full underwater ROV, microprocessor controller with lights and video camera on board. Control is via a laptop running my own custom software!

I only built one of these, for my PDA. The reason was due to the limited memory in the older generation UWATEC dive computers. It worked well, but I upgrade to a Suunto computer soon after finishing it.

Plans of my Suunto Interface cable, I have built about 20 of them now they work great even with laptops/PDA`s!
